Deep Dive: SaaS Dynamics and Performance Metrics

This course is dedicated to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of a service oriented business model (e.g. Software as a service / SaaS). In the context of the dynamic system behaviour we introduced and explored in Part 1 and Part 2 we look at the following KPIs:

ARPU - Average Revenue Per User

MRR - Monthly Recurring Revenue

LTV - Life Time Value

CAC - Customer Acquisition Cost

And measures and metrics of viral adoption and exponential growth.

These metrics will be applied to the business models we explored in Part 2:

SaaS - Software as Service

Social - Building, growing and leveraging a community

Service - Managing an installed base and related product and services (e.g. maintenance)

The focus will be on the understanding of the performance metrics and how structure drives behaviour and how this translates into performance of the system or the business model. It helps to avoid simple mistakes and to advance ability to assess a situation, to make decisions and to take more effective action.
